Revell 1/48 Boeing Stearman

Awesome kit from Revell. Great detail, almost perfect fit and at a great price. Decals are a combination of Caracal, kit decals and Aeromaster numbers. Rigged with stainless steel wire.

That is probably the best looking Stearman I have seen yet. Nicely done.

An outstanding build, the detailing and finish are first rate. The rigging is among the very best I have seen. Thanks for the post and photos.

That would have been an excellent work in progress project, there is surely much to be learned from your building skills. Just saying.

Outstanding indeed!  What did you use for the rigging?  The javelins are really accurate looking.

Very nice!

I think the Revell Stearman kit is about the best bargain on hobby shop shelves these days.  At most stores it is less than twenty bucks, and the level of detail is fantastic. It has the steel tubing framework and a very detailed cockpit.

The decals are a combination of kit, Caracal and some Aeromaster #s.

@John

The rigging is .001" stainless steel wire.

I've got the Revell Stearman in my stash as well. Very nicely done! This really motivates me once I find time to resume any kit building.

This at the top of the best builds I have seen.

Top notch build and paint. Looks like a aircraft in a museum.

This is one of the finest scale model builds I've seen. It's just a superb model! I sure wish I could turn out something half this realistic looking!

Simply beautiful!  Excellent build.  I saved the photos as reference when I start building my 1/72.

This is absolutey gorgeous.  I can't wait to build this kit.  It's still a few down on my list.

Is all of this complete OOB, save for the details?

Thanks! I added the fuel lines and the fuel indicator below the upper wing centre section, and a few little extras like the wiring on the engine and brake lines, but really nothing substantial. In the cockpit I replaced the instrument panels as they were very basic, and added seat harnesses.

Excellent. I would like to see some more shots of the cockpit details.

Thank you Crockett. Here are a couple of pics of the interior before I glued the halves together.
