Yeap, very nice work there on the camo schemes and thoughtful use of some not so great kits.

Hello!

I like the idae a lot! I guess painting must be your favourite modelling activity!

Good luck with your builds and have a nice day

Paweł

A nice way to make an interesting display and use up some stash.  Well done.  make sure to post when all the schemes are finished.

1/48 Kangnam F-18 project

In looking through my decals, I noticed that I had a bunch of F-18 Adversary sheets that I was probably never going to get to, but that I really wanted to do. So, I came up with a solution...and a use for the Kangnam F-18 kits. The Kangnam kit has some serious issues, including a nose that's way too narrow, simplified wheel bays, tails that are too small, and mishapen intakes. However, none of these problems can be seen when viewed from above. It also has some nicely engraved panel lines. I decided to make these wall mounts and do a dozen different Adversary schemes surrounding a framed print I have of a Hornet and Tomcat engaging in DACM. I was going to try and get all 12 done before the end of the year, but am stopping at 6 for now. To make things easier and quicker, I sprayed the inside of the canopies dark gray. Another plus with the Kangnam kits is that the wheel bay doors are all in one piece. All markings came from Fightertown sheets. The schemes are all free-handed except the VFC-12 splinter scheme, which I used Steel Beach masks for.
