Kit- Kinetic 1/48 Mirage IIIE /O/R/RD/EE/EA
Extras- Xtradecal Dassualt Mirage III (X48142)
Well let me start by saying I was really disappointed with this kit. Only a new mold and so much flash, and as usual with Kinetic, bad fitting parts. I know this comes down to having so many variants, but I think they could be doing it better for the prices. In short, be prepared for a lot of work.
Having said that, I can buy a kit straight up and make a RAAF variant Mirage, so that wins me over. Why can’t more mainstream companies get on board and do some RAAF aircraft?
This aircraft (A3-25) is from 75 Squadron, RAAF Butterworth, June 1981. The scheme is experimental, and perhaps not the most striking RAAF Mirage scheme, I do like it as it is something different.
Painted with Gunze, Tamiya, Vallejo and Italeri acrylics. Gunze Mr. Metalizer (Dark Iron). Flory dark dirt wash and AK satin varnish (very nice product).

Would I build another? Yes, I have another already in the stash, and there are a lot of RAAF schemes I like, especially the ARDU Fanta can scheme (Orange and white) and the ARDU Green and Golden Yellow scheme.

Wow, another beauty! I have to ask though, I'm assuming she's camoed on the bottom too, or am I looking at a shadow?

I had to go look up those ARDU schemes, wow, both are pretty friggin' awesome!

Very nice, clean build.  Like the different subject matter too.
