Hasegawa's Macchi 205 in 1/48
Posted by BlackTulip109 on Monday, December 28, 2015 11:38 AM

Got a chance to get on the FORUM since Christmas.

I saw the ad next to the FORUM for the Hasegawa 1/48 MC-205.

Just wondering if this is new tooling or re-box of Tauro's kit No. 305.

I like Italian WW2 aircraft and like seeing more examples in the larger scales.

1/32 would be really nice to see.

Just curious if anyone else has info on this kit

Um, its a re-release of Hasegawa's own kit from the 90s. Great kit, excellent detail. A few inaccurate panel lines as its based off of their MC 202.

I just picked one up.  Looks great.  I also bought a set of Mike Grant decals for the smoke ring camo.  I was disappointed Hasegawa didn't offer them in the kit.

I ordered them directly from the manufacturer.

I purchased a 1/72 set last year for the Italeri Mc 202.   I've used many of their other decals and the quality was fantastic and they worked perfectly with Micro Sol and Set.

Thanks for the info on the smoke rings !!

TheItalians had some awesome camoflage. They obviously were not thinking of us modelers as it is tough to apply on a scale model but looks darn cool!!!
