listen to that little voice....
Posted by Theuns on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 11:09 AM

We all have had that little voice in the back of our minds telling us to be careful or not do something right?.....

Well I chose to ignore the little voice telling me not yo hold the 1/48 Eduard Nieuport 11 I just completed with rigging and all by the undercart whilt spraying on the final clearcoat, afterall I have done it loads of times.

You gessed it, before I could react to "your gonna drop it ***!" it is on the ground, main wing broken off the struts, tail bent and broken, undercart off!

Ah well there is no medcine for stupidity!!

Maybe I can make a crash cene with it or something.

SO - listen to the voice!

The "Voice" just told me to heed your advice, will do. Well said, mate.

Hope you will find a satisfactory diorama setting for this one, often they are as interesting as if the airplane was perfect, they frequently ended up that way in real life anyway.

I feel your pain Theuns.  Been there too.  Built a plane dio for a friend and decided to take it to the next club meeting first.  Hadn't secured the plane to the base as it would have been too high to fit in the plastic carrying case that I usually carry them in.  When I got to the meeting, instead of listening to the voice telling me not to carry so much in at one time, I put the plane on top of the dio and put the dio on top of another plastic box.  Well, you can guess the rest.  Going up the walk, I sneezed and the plane slid right off the dio.  It landed in the grass but the elevators broke off along with the figure standing on the wing and the antenna.  The parts took sections of paint with them necessitating a lot of TLC to repair.  Haven't done anything that stupid since (I think).Embarrassed

For me a "repaired" model will not be as good as it was in the first place so maybe a dio is called for :-(

Tamiya 1:32 F4U-1 Corsair!  Need I say more?  Broken wing, Tail, and Left Landing Gear.  After some major repair work, it will be donated to the VFW.

I finally purchased a second one and it sits proudly on my stand.

My little voice keeps trying to tell me to quit hacking and cutting on the kits and just build them OOB, but I'm an addict and I just can't help myself.

Put the kit away for awhile and perhaps something special will come to mind and you will be even happier with the result later.
