I know this is a long shot...but, I know there's some guys here who regularly go to Osh Kosh. Back in 2001, there was a Fouga Magister that crashed, killing pilot and passenger. Wing tip tank broke off, and wing disintegrated.
Does anybody happen to have a picture if this plane?
I believe that it was polished aluminum (could'a been painted silver), but I can't remember what markings it carried...I want to say it had red/white/blue rudder...but 15 years has fogged my memmory. I have asked a few of the airport "coffee crew", but came up fruitless.
The pilot/owner was Roger Simpson. He hangered/based this plane (as well as a Stearman) at the airport that I now work at...and I had the pleasure of flying with him and he gave me a bit of stick time in the Stearman. I am working on a pair of Magisters now and would like to do one of them as his plane, and it will end up in the display case at the airport, along with some of my other builds.
