I would stay away from the 1/48 Monogram B-25's

I was building one for a patient of mine who flew them in WW2 and had to eventually abandon the Monogram I was building. I saw a new Academy 1/48 B-25 using the Accurate molds for a fantastic price and grabbed it and what a world of difference.

I truly am at a point where I am letting my son build as many of my older kits as he can handle, so far he has cranked out 81 kits from my collection. I LOVE the new technology of the kits today and since time is at such a premium for me it is worth it so I don't spend most of my time filling, filing and sanding.

No, Tamiya only does the -1, -1A and -1D. Korea saw the F4U-4, F-4U-4B, F4U-5, and AU-1 versions used in that war. In 1/48 you have Hasegawa, Minicraft, Monogram, and Heller making one or more of these versions. 

Just like Accurate did the early models of B-25 (B thru G), while Monogram did the late ones (H & J). Bothe companies make the different glass bombardier and solid canon and strafer nose versions of those variants.

B-25 is AM/Academy (same mold) all the way. The revell does not even compare.  Tam for the F4U for me.   Both early and later. 

If any version will do, the suggestions above are the ones to follow. If you are looking for particular versions, such as early or late model, you are more limited. Late model F4Us are best done by Hasegawa in 1/48. 

Academy is reboxing the Accurate Miniatures Mitchell kit now I believe.

      I am looking for good quality kits in 48 scale for a Mitch and Corsair... I am not super big on doing a whole lot of clean up or other modifications to get a good looking product, so any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance!

If you mean the Mitchell, I recommend the Monogram kit, or the Accurate Miniatures kit, out of production by available on the second-hand market (eg, eBay, model shows, forum trading sections).  I'd look on the second-hand market for the Mongram kit, too, though the -J is currently available, retail, through Revell-Monogram, because I like bargains.  Here is the catalog page at RM's website:

I would build either company's offering, for any version of the B-25.

For the Corsair, I recommend Tamiya, myself.
