I don't doubt the new Tamiya kit is probably better for ease of construction but I doubt it can beat the Accurate Miniatures kit by much detail-wise. Only issue I've had with their kits is some like the Avenger you have to follow the instructions very closely as you can screw yourself over if you try to put things together in the wrong order.

Still, you got a fantastic deal!

Blacksheep, here are my 2 kits as promised. I checked the decal sheet in my old box and it only has decals for a single plane, so I am stuck buying decals for my new Storm.

Eduard's 1 48 Shturmovik is the Accurate Miniatures reboxed, however it includes the straight wing from Accurate Miniatures single seat version combined with the 2 seater fuselage, as the AM 2 seat kit can only be built as a swept wing version. Both kits are top notch, the Eduard one gives a superb decal sheet. I do have an Accurate Miniatures 2 seater for sale with a ton of AM, including decals

Accurate Miniatures 1/48 scale came out with it in 1997; Eduard came out in 1/48 scale in 2006. Eduard's 1/72 scale came out in 1997.

I'm wondering if this is the same kit as the discontinued re-tooled Eduard kit.

I think this may have been around before the Eduard kit, but I could be wrong.

Yes, I think it's the same seller. The new listing include the decals, kind of odd how that worked out. The only thing I know for sure is I got a good deal, and I have decals in my other Storm kit I can use, plus I found some on ebay for a few bucks, but why spend extra when I have some in another box?

I'm wondering if this is the same kit as the discontinued re-tooled Eduard kit. I know Eduard had the re-tooled, Yak-1 and I believed they were Accurate Miniature molds. I could be wrong though.

I was looking at the eBay Il-2s and for some odd reason, I'm getting a funmy suspicion they're both the same seller under different names. I'm finding it odd at first sell really cheap then sell high later. It's a great steal you got though.

Yes I am familiar. I just never knew they had the Il-2 kit. I have seen mostly the Accurate Miniature Yak-1 kits in my LHS but never the Sturmovick.

Yes, Accurate also makes the Stormovik on Skies which I also have. I took these form the listing to save me time tonight. I will take a pic of both my kits and post them later tonight or in the morning.

When you do get it, can you post pics of sprues and contents. I'm curious of the details of the kit. I love to get the Tamiya Il-2 kit and know they're pretty expensive.

I have it, arent you familiar with Accurate Minituers? Very decent kits. He posted the sprues in the listing I linked to, go take a look.

Im not sure, but I think this guy may have bought many of those 8.00 kits and is now selling for 11.85, it sure looks a lot like the same listing. He has a total of 7, so i wouldnt be surprised if he grabbed them from the previous seller. Or this is the same seller under a different account, these kits have decals. The deal is still nice.

This would be the next best deal on the bay:

I got a Toko brand out of California way cheaper late last summer. Polish kit I believe. $10 with shipping.

This is the kit:

Yep, not a bad deal, but thats a 1/72 scale, so it's right in line for lower price.

GREAT eBay Deal?
Posted by spiralcity on Thursday, February 4, 2016 2:06 PM

Did anyone catch the seller who was selling Accurate Minatures Ilushin IL2-M3 Stormoviks for 8.00 with a shipping fee of 7.00 as new kits?

This guy had over 17 in stock, I purchased 1 and went back the next day to order another and they were all gone! I should have just bellied up and bought 2. The only issue with these kits are box is opened (but looks new), bags are sealed, no decals. I located decals on ebay, cheap.

This was the listing:
