Belgian F16 Tigermeet - finsihed
Posted by waikong on Saturday, February 6, 2016 10:56 PM

So I've haven't been the most productive of modellers in the last 2 years, finishing very little.   Haven't posted much of anything, just admiring the work you guys have been doing. But I was able to finish this around Christmas, a Belgain F16 in Tigermeet scheme.  It's actually the wrong model of an F16 - but I didn't care as I just wanted to do the cool scheme. I had a very inexpensive Academy F16 in my stash from Hobby Lobby. Everything was buttoned up and with a pilot too - so build was quick.  Quick liberating not worrying about super detailing the cockpit and getting the undercarriages right. In any case, here she is finished in flight.  Criticism most welcomed.

I like it! Strikes a chord with me 'cause I've got an Italeri F-16 on the bench with great decals and really poor fit, especially the landing gear dooors when I decided to do it wheels up. So it's destined to be a very flashy display model with some less than perfect (or nonexistent) panel lines here and there. Really like what you did with the base - thanks for posting!

Whoa! I love these air show and competition birds- like how knights that showed up at a joust dressed in their best show armour. And you did a great job on her - kudos!!

WOW, awesome bird. Is that 1/72? I ask because I really really want a scheme like that in 1/48 but I can't find any. Nice work.

thanks for the kind words everyone.

Mike, sounds like we got the same kit.

Brandon, its 1/48. The decals are from Eagle strike, but they are OOP now. I actually purchased two in case I messed up, which was highly likely when I first saw them. So I have an extra set if you are interested, just pm me.

Man, I just love NATO Tiger Meet schemes. Too bad model kit companies don't make NATO Tiger Meet kit schemes. Not too many aftermarket decals out there for a wide variety of nations too.

I love this scheme:

Thanks Tempest and Tojo. I've actually seen a few sets with the decals in 1/72nd, too bad they don't make them in 1/48. The after market decals aren't too cheap!

Blacksheep, I'm with you there, Love those markings.  Scary looking one !

I like this one too - I usually don't do much jets, but these along with acrobatic teams got me thinking about doing more.  But again, you can get 1/72 versions, but 1/48 are hard to come by
