And I STILL have that kit. Got started on it back in the 2000's, as I recall; I suppose I should get around to finishing it this decade . . . .

And, yes, I have the '90's "Action Scene" version, with the dark green plastic and the tarmac "base".

My dad built that kit in the mid 80's. As I recall, it had the ejection seat from the prototype instead of the ACES seat. He built it off pics from a mid 70's "Air Combat" article. Still looks pretty good, I will have to get a pic of it.

I built that kit, many moons ago...almost 20 years!Surprise I really don't remember much about it, other than it was an A-10. I had the AMT/ERTL box that included some figs and ground equipment.

As for the Trumpy A-10....yup...it's huge!

It is not without issues though. Nothing really major, that some filling/sanding can't handle though. I would recommend getting the Squadron vacform canopy...that will give you a corrected piece for just a few bucks (kit canopy is mis-shapen). They give you TONS of ordnance, but it leaves a lot to be desired (shape and detail wise)...I used left overs from Academy's F-18 kit.

Old ERTL A-10 Build 1:48

I bought a very cheap old A-10 ERTL kit from my local shop and started the build. Nothing fit smoothly. Incredibly vague instruction sheet. No mention of nose weight.
I'm glad the kit was cheap.

I did this kit as a pre-cursor to the big-boy Trumpeter 1:32 A-10 kit to see how things went.
Love the final product, but like the A-6E kits - total frustration at many stages of the build.
There has to be a lesser frustrating kit to build out there!

Online reviews of the Trumpeter kit are all pretty much the same - It's Frikkin HUGE!
So that will be interesting....

Pics shortly - gotta host something first.

Cheers
