I've seen my share of explosions being recreated in a diorama, often with cotton as smoke. Most have been somewhat unconvincing until I saw this. By combining LED lighting, it sure looks good.

Just wanted to share

Wow, really nice effect! I have to admit the cotton with back lighting is really effective!
BTW, who is the guy running in the back? More to the point, where was he standing when the plane was coming in? Was he at the end of the deck trying to get a selfie with the plane coming in?
“Ya ya ya, unicorn papoi!”
lol, I don't know what he WAS doing, but I know he WILL be washing his underwear.
Thanks for the link, it looks real!

That was the landing flight officer. The guy with the paddles yelling "Pull up, pull up......"
Hi;
I went to the site and checked it out .AWESOME ! .
Now one question is this .How did he attach the Canopy where it is ?
Looks like a tiny wire hidden by some of the smoke. Very clever. And realistic looking from every angle. That's very hard to pull off.
Thanks for the link!
yeah, if you zoom in on some of the images, you can see where the wire is. Still looks great though.
Builds like this belong to a museum. Absolutely stunning!
No bucks, no Buck Rogers
Great work, I have to agree it is the most convincing explosion i have seen done. Thanks for the link.
Rob

RaualdukeLooks great.the pilot should be in the air by now though?
Wow! Wow! Wow! 6 out of 5 stars.
Chasing the ultimate build.
His Swordfish dio for the attack on Taranto is really nice, too.

That appears to be the LSO running for his life from the LSO Platform. In the original photo it looks like he has an LSO paddle in his hand.
waikong lol, I don't know what he WAS doing, but I know he WILL be washing his underwear.
I think he'll be washing more than his underwear, if you know what I mean!
That's a great diorama!
