Theuns, I had the same situation come up a few months ago.  I was working on a Stuka and a Ju 52 that had no swastikas on the decal sheet.  I did a little digging and found 2 sheets that had swastikas of every size and style.  Check out www.kits-world .com for decal sheet # KW1724832.  The other sheet is Aero Masters sheet #AN48545. It is a 1/48 size set but has swastikas in all styles and sizes from 250mm to 800mm. I picked them both up at Sprue Brothers.

Hope that this helps.  Good luck.

Would the swastikas on the BF 110 and FW 190 be the white with black outline and the ones on the late war planes like the HE 162 just the monotone white or black?

The swastikas on the unrestored He-162A-1 we have at the museum here in Ottawa are black with the white outlines.

I have been having a look at the books i have to see if i can find any info on national insignia regulations. But unfortunatly i don't. I only have Vol 2 of Merricks Luftwaffe camoflage and markings. I think Vol 1 deals with national insignia.

This is the scan, hopefully this will be of some use.

Bish those sizes would be great thanx, I need to get my homework sorted before I start building.

I found a sheet online but it would be good to see if the sizes are correct.

There were standard sizes, the old microscale decals were nice as they gave you a guide to the sizes. If you wish, i can scan them and send you a copy.

As for styles, i am not sure of any strict regulations, best bet is to check images of what your building. A lot of late war aircrfat had just outline markings. the 162's i have seen seem to be solid one colour.

swastika sizes?
Posted by Theuns on Sunday, February 14, 2016 9:12 AM

Can anyone help please.

I have a few German planes I want to build but need to get sizes for the swastikas to be made by a decal maker.

Wereh there a standard size  for all planes like BF 110, FW190, he 162 salamander.

If there was only one size I can work out the sizes in the different scales.

Would the swastikas on the BF 110 and FW 190 be the white with black outline and the ones on the late war planes like the HE 162 just the monotone white or black?

Thanx
