I cant see darker colors they just look black. I did'nt know about it until I tried to join the Navy and while at the MEPS center they opened a 3 ring binder and asked me what number I saw in the circle and my responce was what number? Colors like red blue and yellow I can see. The darker shades I have problems with dark blue, green, gray, all look black some shades of blue and gray I cant tell the differance between. I have a friend who sees no color everything is shades of gray.
Light aircraft gray is what I am using for a RAF Hawk trainer. The Airfix instructions call for Humbrol #166.
Just curious are you red-green color blind or one of the others? It happens in my family but appears to have skipped me totally. By time I was in second grade I must have taken 100 dot test.
Chasing the ultimate build.
Thank you guys I will have to order that paint.

Can't help ya with proper paint #s...but a medium grey, like "light aircraft grey" will get the job done.
Hello,
I started my first jet model yesterday the Revell 1/48 F/A 18E and the instructions call out paint numbers by alphabet (A=Dark Gray). All the paint colors are vague, I googled F18-E cockpits but, since I am color blind that didn't help much. I need the paint numbers for the cockpit colors. I use Vallejo air paints.
Thanks in advance
