Suggestions on slight weathering wash for A-400?
Posted by Wilbur Wright on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 8:35 PM

Hi guys,

Slight weathering of a new modern aircraft which is a neutral gray fuselage?

My A-400 is finished (props are not attached). So I would like to give a slight wash to this model.  This is a pretty clean aircraft in real life as they are somewhat new.

Any suggestions on a wash (oil or acrylic over the neutral gray color) that wouldn't go overboard but would take the edge off the showroom clean look?

Model is painted with Tamiya acrylics and extensive decaling is sealed with MM laquer (several lighter coats)

I've always used Ivory black artist oil color thinned with mineral spirits for washes, but that may be too much for a newer aircraft.

Thanks.
