1/48 F-105 : Monogram vs. Hobbyboss
I have a rather large cache of Monogram F-105s waiting to be built. I have seen some builds here on the forum about the Hobbyboss kit. Looking arould on ebay there seems to be a lot of AM "fix it" kits for the HB and only basic (cockpit and gunbay mostly) for the Monogram. I have heard said that the HB kit is well detailed but the gear is questionable.
So, my question is: how do the two kits compare with each other. Accuracy? Detail? Problems? Any other points to be made between the two kits?
My plan is to build at least one of each variant. I have a resin nose for a B. I will have to rescribe the panel lines for that one. I also have the resin T-stick conversion. Is there any advantage of the new kit, Revell I think, over the conversion?
Thanks, Tim
