Gorgeous work on your A-4, AdeB. The detail you have added dresses it up smartly. You have also done an ace job with the paint work. Really glad to see you building this Airfix A-4 as I have eyed it on a number of occasions and it certainly seems to be a worthy kit. Looking forward to the finishing touches.

Bit of an update.

Painted, decals and some weathering started:

Lots of fiddly littel bits waiting to go on:

The beef down there was pretty incredible. We had a bbq on the lawn with Kurt Tank, he explained the next ideas about using delta wing technology.

Lots of good Patagonian Weiswine.

So me too. That Airfix kit is the best I have built, Argentine.

Slowly but surely adding the various bits of colour:

Just the sky blue ends of the elevators to do and touch up the minor over-spray issues.

On to some photo etch detailing:

Just added it's coat of Testors primer:

removed the actuators that hold the front slats ready to have the photo etch versions added. I think i will leave that until the end, no way they will survive painting and decalling!

You're doing a great job on this build.  Although I have a Monogram Skyhawk in my stash, I will definately follow this build so as to pick up some tips!  Thanks for sharing.

I didn't know you had been to the Falklands Abe, that one splace not many people get to go to.

Hello!

Your build is looking good so far! I think you'll enjoy this kit a lot - I did when I have built mine, it turned out like that:

Good luck with your build and have a nice day

As usual, here's the cockpit started. The basic, plain Airfix kit parts first, having removed the molded belts:

To add the photoetch to the seat sides required some thinning of the kit piece so it will fit into the snug tub:

Pedals and floor added:

Seat sides and rear bulkhead:

Straight forward so far...

I will definitely be following this one, AdeB. Love the Skyhawks! I just finished the Monogram OA-4M not too long ago (1/48th).

Good luck on the move. I hate moving, mainly because I had to do it so many times while in the USMC and with my present job. Seems to break my completed models.....

So, this pack of goodies arrived today. Going to build an Argentine navy A4 from the Falklands war in tribute to my many trips 'down South' This will be my last build for a while as I am moving house soon.

Hopefully a few will tag along for the ride.
