Nice clean build BK. The only thing I've heard about the JACK is that it was not very manouverable like you said almost a pure interceptor.

Great job, Brandon! Is that the kit that comes with the electric motor to spin the prop?

No sir, it is not that kit. Just the simple older Tamiya Raiden kit.

Beautifully rendered. What color for the wing ID stripes?

That color is a mix of MM engine orange and insignia yellow or make "orange yellow" as Tamiya called it and to match the lightening bolt.

Very nice looking Jack! Hmmmm didn't I just leave this party?Big Smile

I know, right? I really think your build was superior to this one. I kinda ran out of steam near the end, but it was a pleasant kit overall. Thanks for the reply.,

Honestly yours is a much sharper build.  Your chipping looks far more natural and realistic than mine does.  It was a fun plane to build especially after the B-17

Brandon -  Great job, so nicely finished. When I look at this airplane and see the "short coupling," I can imagine with all of it's power it might have been a real task for handling on the ground. Anyone have any knowledge of the reputation this thing had for taking off and landing?

Super good model, Brandon, thanks for the post and photos.

I don't know much about it other than I really like its lines. From what I can find out there were less than 700 made and over several years. They were used mostly to intercept the B-29's. I found a few survivors in museums but it doesn't look like any are flyable.

Here are the shots of the Raiden I just finished up for the Japanese GB. I had alot of fun building it, it's a quality kit. I kept the weathering to a minimum and most of the shots of this type of aircraft show them with minimal wear and not super chipped like many IJN planes are depicted. Plus, that's less work for me Big Smile. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the pics.
