1/48 EA-3B WIP
Posted by Darren Roberts on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 9:07 PM

This has been sitting on the shelf for a couple months, so I thought I'd make some progress on it. I got the paint on and one side decaled.

Fantastic work. What squadron is this? My dad was aircrew with VQ-2 on EA-3Bs

Thanks! It's from VQ-1. This particular airframe was flown out of Shemya, Alaska and collected telemetry data on Soviet missile launches. It also flew out of Atsugi, Japan (these are the markings it's in) and Rota, Spain.

Is this the Trumpeter Kit? I just received the 1/48 TA-3B from Trumpeter and am looking forward to getting it started. I'll be watching your progress.

On the Bench:  Lots of unfinished projects!  Smile

This started life as the TA-3B. This will be the third or fourth Skywarrior I've done, so if you need any help, feel free to ask. What version are you going to build? Steel Beach and Hypersonic have a lot of good upgrade parts.
