Opinions on the Revell 1:144 TU-95 Bear Kit?
Posted by GAF on Thursday, April 28, 2016 1:57 PM

I was browsing Goodwill today (as I usually do) and ran across a Revell TU-95 Bear kit in 1:144 scale.  Now, modern Russian aircraft and 1:144 scale is not exactly my cup of tea, but the price was $2.00, and I didn't think it unfair.  The kit was open, but all the parts including instructions and decals were there.  This is not the Revell of Germany release, but the earlier boxing.

Has anyone built this kit, or have an opinion of it?

This is the kit, BTW:  https://www.scalemates.com/kits/194255-revell-4727-tu-95-bear-bomber

Thanks!

It's a nice little kit overall IMO. Builds fairly quickly without any major issues. I definitely recommend it.

Thanks, RW!  I found a couple of reviews online that gave a better picture of what it's like.

One thread on the subject said it was inaccurate and had soft details.  There was no link to anything that said what the inaccuracies were, and I have to wonder (at 1:144) scale just how much detail is considered "hard".

I hope to trade it for something I actually need.
