Thanks patrick, its what i am use to and it was a nice one to work on. I had hoped the rear compartment would be more visible, but at least i have the photo's.

Excellent, Bish -

Even though it is a large model, the scale you're working in does present challenges. You turned out a really fine piece of work, it's sort of a shame that your interior PE details will be mostly hidden, but you'll know they're in there, so will we.

Bish!  I've said it before, but it is worth saying again........what you do with 1/72 scale kits is AMAZING!  The PE in that thing is spectacular!  And you base.....brilliant, simply brilliant!  Bloody well done!  I'm going to buy you a tickit to the states just so you can teach me how to do those rockin bases!  Super job mate!

Funnily enough i was looking at Steves pics on the floatplanes GB. I still want to get a 115, but he has already given me an ida for a scene. I lok forward to seeing yours, love the look of that aircraft.

Nice display, Bish.  It seems like there is never enough room for doing photos of larger models.  I'm thinking of trying a curved backdrop.

Time to call this done. For the final touches i added another crewman at the main hatch and a ground crewman guiding the tractor back. Some pars of the Realistic water did not clear up, but i like the effect and for my first water, i am pretty happy with it. I got these two water products mainly for armour dio's, but i think it works perfectly well here as well.

Overall, a nice build. Been a while since i built an Italeri aircraft, and despite its age and lack of interiour detail, i really enjoyed it. One important lesson, get a biger area to take photo's. I'l be moving my modelling up to the spare bedroom after the summer, so no excuse not to have a proper photo setup.

Bob, for the wood effect, i painted Tamiya XF-60. I then adde some un thinned oil paints, mainly Burnt Sienna but then with a litle raw umber and yellow orche on top. I let that dry for a while and then removed excess with some thinner. Its bascially the same method i used for all wood such as weapons and so on. But then i added some Flory wash to dirty it up a bit.

Very very outstanding Bish. Well worth the wait, that's for sure. The trolley looks great. You've done some wonderful work there. As for your base, wonderfully executed. I'm excited to see it all come together.

I realised last night its been nearly two weeks sinc ei updated. I don't where the time has gone and despite haveing the build nearly complete, i don't seem to have done much. So, here is a short update before the final pics.

The aircrfat itself didn't ned much work to get it finishe. I used some Flory Wash, especially long the water line, to get the look i wanted. Then it was just some exhaust staining and all the last pieces were added.

The beaching trolley is now ready for the aircraft to be added.

And the SS 100 just needs a few more pieces fitted.

And the base has realy come on. I wanted to change from the darker grey concrete i have been doing on aircrfat builds. I found a tutorial online that i really liked the look of so gave that a try.I am much happier with this finish.

And for the wtaers edge, i started with some flory washes and then added some Woodland fine turf for algea and then wodland realistic water. After that dried i use some water effects fr ropples. This is suppose to dry clear but a few bits have stayed white. But i still have a bit more to add to this.

So, just got to finish the water, add everything to the base and a couple more figures.

Painting under the wing was not as bad as i was expecting. The blue of course was fine as there was no need for masking. When it came to the green, i didn't worry to much about masking the struts, i just went over that after with a brush. All in all, i think it was a better call than trying to fit the wings after painting, i hate trying to glue painted parts.

I guess I missed this since I usually don't pay as much attention to 1/72 builds (I work exclusively in 1/48 for aircraft) but I'm glad I dropped by since it's such an interesting aircraft and your work never disappoints when I view your builds.

I'm always intimidated about air brushing a camo scheme when the wings are on the fuselage. I guess I worry about my ham handed painting and masking techniques/skills . You seem to have carried it off perfectly.
