Hasagawa 1/48 Bf109 Trop WIP

Well it's been awhile since I've been around here. Between a bathroom reno over the winter and now the nice weather, I haven't spent much time at the bench.

With that said, here's what I'm working on for the 1941 GB and thought I'd post here too for all your viewing pleasureBig Smile I picked this beauty up last summer at a local show. Came with the Verlinden update set and I think I paid like 7 bucks for it! I grabbed this one and a Tamiya Corsair for $15 total from a nice lady who was selling her husbands kits while he was cringing in the background. There was sign on the table that said "selling my husbands kits...make an offer" LOL. My wife said "omg that's gonna be me someday isn't it!" I of course reassured her that that would never happen!Angel Wink

This will be my first German aircraft, as well as my first foray into PE & resin, so this should be funIndifferent Thanks for looking!

What a great score ! I bet the "husband " doesn't think so though. I can just picture him standing there pouting, as I would too.

I have delved into the PE and resin rehlm a little bit myself.  i think the PE is a blast and dresses up a model nicely. But so far, I have had many fit problems with the resin stuff ( on a 1/48 TBF Avenger and a 1/48 Kingfisher, they are still not done )  EVERY resin part on the Kingfisher cockpit has to be re-engineered, and the resin parts where suposedly made specifically for the brand kits that i have. I hope yours goes better than mine.

I'm finally retired. Now time I got, money I don't.

I wounder what he had done to deserve that. Must have been real bad.

Good score for you though, welcome to the world of German aircraft. I hope your sanity is not that important to you Big Smile.

Look forward to seeing this come along.

Thanks guys! Ok I'm in for a small update. Sorry for the long delay but I'm a slow builder and the 109 has been sharing bench space with my Corsair. Taken awhile to get here but I have the cockpit all painted up and I've given it a wash of artist oils. I do like the detail the resin gives. I also see from the pictures where I need to touch up the IP. Guess next time I'll prime the PE before painting itEmbarrassed Anyway on to the pics....

Thanks for looking! Comments and critques always appreciated!
