Hanriot seaplane - completed photos
Posted by jgeratic on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 12:44 PM

Just finished this one for BrandonK's Floats and Boats: Amphibious Aircraft Group Build.

The kit was HR Model's 72nd scale Hanriot HD.2, along with a PE set from 72minute, and Small Stuff resin engine.

These seaplanes were stationed at CAM Dunkirk (Centre de Aviation Maritime de Dunkerque) beginning October 1917.  The squadron's badge was the martlet bird, and they were tasked with protecting the harbour as well as escorting recon aircraft.

regards,

Jack

Yes siree, Jack

What a beaut, perfect all round. That is some of the finest rigging I have seen done, it gives all of us an example of outstanding model building and finishing.

Thanks so much for the post and great photos.

Great build Jack! Bow Down I can't even think of anything that small anymore.

Another great job there Jack, I too love the rigging and the nice faded look you've gotten there.

That's simply an AMAZING build !  i was shocked to see the last pic with your hand in it to show the scale...either you're a NBA basketball player or this is some tiny model...just incredable !!

Thank you GMorrison, Jay Jay, chukw, Buckeye, mrmike.

Lol!  Nope, no NBA hands here.
Guess my near sightedness helps to deal in this scale, but for rigging I do use tweezers.  Good natural light and steady hands play a part too.

I was about to type emphatically that I dont believe this is 1/72nd.  Until I saw the last pic with the plane in your hand.  Excellent work!

Yup, looking at all the pictures, we think, yup, nice model, great craftmanship, looks nice, then you see it in referecne to a coin, or a hand, and then have a Holy Batman moment.
