This started out as a fun destress build, turned into a struggle. I'm geussing this kit suffers fit issues by offering multiple versions of the airframe rather than retooling for each one. I get that, but each sub component needed filler, making for a lot of tedious sanding and rescribing. When I joined the wing to the Fuse I was impressed that it did'nt need any filler, especially after all the other bits did. My enjoyment was short lived as the port wing tip was 1/4 inch high. My fault for getting excited about the great fit and glueing the area before checking . I did find a work around without destroying the wing/root area. I used a razor saw and carefully cut along the seem at the wing bend , secured the wing ,pulled the tip down to the correct height and then filled the razor saw cut with thin Ca glue . I kept the weathering very light ,model master enamels followed with Testors Dullcote finished it off. The decals layed down nice after some Solvaset . The markings are for 2/NSGr.9 Italy 1944 . Thanks for looking cheers Trey

It looks fantastic! You overcame the issues you had with flying colors. Great job!

MMMMMMMMMMMMMM, Stuka. Nice job TREY.

I am curious about what you said about the fit issues. There should not be any major differance between the versions that would use this airframe. From the D-1 to the G's, it was pretty much the same apart from extra armour. Could just be poor mouldings. Not good news as i am thinking of getting their 48th G-2.

Now, that there is one dandy of a Stuka. Excellent work Trey. Your splinter camo is especially well done. Appears to me that you overcame any fit issues brilliantly. Thanks for sharing your Stuka with us.

This is a fantastic example of a build that's done right!  The Stuka reminds me of the F4U Corsairs wing.  Another great job sir!

Razor saw! That's like major committment to the operating table Big Smile. I can't see the scar.

Seriously, really fine work.

I'm not that familiar with the different kits of 1/48 Stukas. I have the Hase Ju87B-2 which I'll get to probably next year and, even if it doesn't have any issues, I'll be happy to have it turn out anywhere near as nice as your build.

Thanks Bish ,The front scoop was molded seperately and you can see how much filler it took on the pic with the interior. I figured that maybe there was a slight variation in that on another version of the D or G ? The upper fuse to forward cowl has a seperate panel with fit issues as well ,but do'nt see a need for it to be molded seperately? Real head scratcher for sure.

Joe ,Toshi thank you both for the compliments

Mike the thin ca glue wicked in to the cut so nice it was just a few swipes of sandpaper to blend it. Since there is a raised bit along the cut it worked to my advantage. Thanks for the kind words.

Given the issues are at the front, it sounds like the main fuselage is shared with the B kits.
