Revell 1/72 Spitfire Mk V (clipped wing) completed
Posted by Bossman on Saturday, May 28, 2016 8:22 AM

Hi All,

Here is a recent completion that is my first contribution to the 1/72 scale "OTS" group build.  There's some much more impressive work going on in there including A/C, Armor, dioramas . . . so feel free to check it out.  (unless you DON'T like seeing talented modelers doing impresive work on really cool kits)Surprise

Overall, this 1990 Revell Germany kit is a very nicely detailed little gem with a few issues that were fairly easily corrected or "lived with".  I really enjoyed building it.

Comments/Critiques welcomed and encouraged !

Thanks,

Chris

Beautiful work there Bossman.  I especially like the subtile panel line treatment. it's not in your face but still visable. You are included in the "talented individuals" list  for sure.

Thanks Jay Jay.

I've gone to using much lighter shades of grey/brown/green for panel line washes.  I prefer the effect I get when I use (in this case) a grey that is only a few shades darker than the base color.  Then, after the dullcoat is applied, the application of some darker grey pastel chalk makes things stand out a bit more.

And thanks to you Toshi.

There are some mistakes that I made with the kit, but I'm pretty pleased with the results.
