I'm currently starting work on the 1/72 Tamiya F4U-1D. It's hands down the best option in 1/72. I have the Academy and Hasegawa in my stash also and although nice kits they do not have the detail and fit of the Tamiya. I'll be posting a WIP when I get some time. Just my .

Of those three, the Testors kit will be the most challenging. But something nice can be made from it regardless.

I'd suggest the other recommendations. Although I have not built them, anything has to be better than the Testors kit.

I've built two of the academy kit. Fit was great. Surface detail is really nice. I was pleased. I have not seen the Tamiya kit.

Looking for a 1/72 F4U Corsair to help round out my fighters. What are the best options out there? I will assume the Hobby Craft easy build and Testors kits are a bit light on detail, but, don't know that for sure. Academy? Hasegawa? RG?
