Nice work Toshi.  Looks like a clean build and it looks like you had fun with it.

Thank you sir!  Yes, it was extremely fun.  I normally build in 1/32, to build 1/72 back to back (Mustang) is something I've never attempted.

Here's a few more photos of the Corsair build.  I also added the Tamiya 1/32 for scale.

My first set of 1/72.

Here is the final reveal of the Academy 1/72 F4U-1 Corsair.  I now enjoy building in the 1/72.  I have great respect for those that can detail in this scale!

Very nice build, Toshi, fine job all around. 1:72 is my favorite scale, I'm glad to read that you enjoyed the smaller size as well.

Thanks for the post and photos, I really enjoyed seeing your excellent work. You have made huge advancements in your modeling skills, in a very short time. Happy we all get to see how you continually improve.

Patrick

Thank you for the very kind words.

That looks a whole heck of a lot better than the Testors-Hawk kit. But I think it needs more blue lol.  J/K

Thank you my friend!  I'm going to start with the base coat.  Vallejo Air 71.005 Intermediate Blue.

Yes, I enjoy putting together but more importantly Mrs. Toshi likes the 1/72 aircraft a lot!

M. Brindos

That is really cool, Toshi! I hope he gets the bug and spreads it to all of his friends. :D

I hope so too.  I always want to spark the essence of a child that we forgot a long time ago!  The spark of curiosity and not being scared to do something.  Kids will always ask, why, why, and why!  They will also do things they are not supposed to engage in.  LOL!

Here is the Monogram Skyhawk that is going to Marcus, Mrs. Toshi's friend's son.    I can now see and open my eyes to see the growth in my modeling techniques.  Good or bad, we can only move in one direction, forward if that's the direction one wishes to choose.  If it wasn't for Forum members of FSM, I would nor could not vision any type of modeling and personal growth in my life!  Thank you all!

It did take me a while to even take a single part off the sprue of the Academy 1/72 Corsair.  I usualy am half done by now.  LOL!  Today, Mrs. Toshi asked if I can go with her to visit her friends house to see a new born baby boy.  Congratulations on this but not my cup of tea!  You know us modelers, we would rather stay at home on the bench.  What was cool was that I gave my Revell 1/48 B-24 Liberator to Mrs. Toshi's friend's older son.  You wonder if I would find this in pieces!  This would make my trip interesting.

Upon arriving, Mrs. Toshi's friend's son immediately took me to his room only to be surprised to find the Liberator in pristine condition hanging from his ceiling.  He started to ask me questions about building kits.  I told him about snaptite kits.  His eyes grew big.  His next question was that if he could get a built jet from me with machine guns.

I had the perfect kit in mind for him.  My Monogram Skyhawk!  He would love it.  It had not one but two machine guns, it also carried bombs, drop tanks, and a pair of missiles!  It was cool, carried munitions, and was decorated with colorful decals.  He would love this gift to him.  It would also be nice to see the Skyhawk hanging from his ceiling!

I've learned that this is a great part and feeling of being a modeler in our hobby.  Who knows, he might just pick up on the hobby as well.
