Tamiya 1/48 Spitfire MkVb TROP.
Today I was playing with photographing models with DSLRs and macro lenses. I pulled a craft from Max's comparitive 1/48 Model Museum and ran some tests. Suprisingly this series of photographs from a Nikon P330 point and shoot were actually better than the big guns because of increased depth of field. Small sensor cameras have small mm lenses which allows for more depth of field. So much for photography on this Aircraft thread. On to the model.
Since I had shot yet another model I thought I'd better post it for viewing. It's Max's standard clean model for the museum (really my office and man-cave) with no weathering or leaks. I guess I've been to too many museums and entered too many car/bike shows where you get points off for that. LOL. The Spits not perfect but looks good at viewing distances and is a good comparitive example for my use or excuse.
I must say that I am amazed at the weathering and detail work happening on the Forum. I do have a Stuka in progress and am trying to at least trying to make it look like the engine has been started. It's a start! LOL.
