Strike Eagle load question

Wassup? I have Revell 1/48 F-15E #85-5511. You know, the one WITHOUT armament lol. Could somebody suggest a weapons accessory kit that will work well for it? Also who might have it in stock? Thanks so much!

Darrin, I ran into that same problem with the Hasagawa F-15E.  Does the kit have the conformal pylons?  Mine didn't, and that caused me all sorts of angst, as I wanted to build a plane with the 12 1000lb bombs on the conformal carriage.  Ended up hanging a couple of 2000 lb LGBs on the wing pylons, and a fuel tank center line.  I believe there are pylons available as an after market add on.  The proper bombs are available from several sources, I'm sure.  You could look into getting JDAMs which were not available when I build mine many moons ago.  Might need to build another one.

That depends on the era and loadout you want to put on her. But I would suggest looking at the various Hasegawa 1/48 weapons sets. You will need at leat two sets unless you plan on some very boring Mk.82 LDGPs which you get 12 of in the basic set. But for CBUs, JDAMs, LGBs, etc., you'll have to look at getting two of whichever type/set you choose for a full warload.

Thanks!

Stickpusher I found this:

http://www.f-15e.info/joomla/en/weapons/loadout-configurations/129-desert-storm

The markings included have option for 89-0487 which scored the air to air kill on the Iraqi chopper with an LGB  in Feb 1991, so will be wanting the appropriate Desert Storm load :) Will definately hunt for Hasegawa sets. (Looks like they may be 3 times the kit price all told lol)

Yes wolfhammer the Revell bird has CFTs, and all pylons and racks, but only items included are sidewinders, lantirn, and external tanks.

Get the Hasegawa weapon sets on eBay. And as far as spending more on weapons than the actual kit?, well, welcome to the world of building kerosene burners...

I suspect that the load out for the markings you want was in one of the "tank plinking" load outs. In that case, get Weapons Set D

If you choose the "lead" load out of 4x GBU-12, one set will do, as it comes with 6 GBU-12s. Otherwise you will nead two sets to make up the "tank plinking - wing" load out of 8x GBU-12s. But that will also give you lots of ordnance for other modern fast mover PGM load outs. Very useful if you plan on doing any OIF or OEF birds. Those often had a nice varied "mix and match" of differing PGMs.
