1/48 Kinetic F-18C Hornet
Posted by Darren Roberts on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 9:29 PM

I finished up the new Kinetic F-18C Hornet and it was a very pleasant build. Overall it's much easier than the Hasegawa kit. I probably won't build another Hasegawa kit if I want a Hornet. With that said, there were still some issues with the Kinetic kit. I wasn't too keen on the wheels. They look undersized and kind of a balloon shaped. I had some trouble fitting the main wheel bay into the fuselage without any gaps. There are a couple of missing ECM blisters (Steel Beach makes a resin set for these, as well as intake/exhaust covers), the knuckle on the landing gear is solid, and the seat is pretty basic. However, all of these problems are very small in the grand scheme of the build. Kinetic did a great job producing a Hornet that is detailed yet easy to build.

You got the tail plane angle just right.  Great build.  Curious as to why you did not put on armament.
