1/32 IMCTH P-51D Desktop Mustang WIP.......1/2 will be covered with Aluminum Panels

Been a while in the planning stages and it's time to get started.  There'll be a few changes along the way making this build a little different.

Starting with the Merlin Engine.  I built a stand since she'll more than likely be sitting a long time.

I ordered some Tamiya Metal Primer yesterday that I should have ordered 2 weeks ago.

Cheers

Followed by a coat of Semi-Gloss Black

I always love the level of detail on these bigger models!!! I built the 1/32 FW-190D9 and I only added half the detail I could have. That Merlin looks great so far.

Today, I made the Port Side Exhaust Shields out of Aluminum sheet.  Don't ask how many I made.  I'm probably going to make a new outer shroud.  I don't like the way the exhaust holes came out.

Now that's something new. I've not seen anyone scratch build those pieces before. I think they look better than good, by the way, and you won't even have to paint them lol.

Well, all I can say is with those shrouds, we know what we will see with the rest of it.  Great work on everything so far.

Keep a log and submit the build to FSM for an article.

Started assembling the Engine today after adding a few more details like drilling out the cylinders for spark plugs.
