Bandai 1/24 N1K2 George/ Shiden Kai completed

Hi gang, just wrapped this up last night.

The 'ol 1/24 Bandai George with a scratch built cockpit, landing gear bays, painted on markings and many many more details added over the 8 month build.

Finished as the 6th prototype.

The kit was a mixed bag of great and horrible. From mismatched different depth panel lines to imaginary cockipt details and a total lack of gear bay detail to nicely detailed rivets and a great engine that only needed a bit of extra love. The over all fit was good, but its lack of proper locating points and some fidly assembly made it a challenge at times. Reallly had to plan ahead for each and every step.

WHOA!!! I've seen this kit around and was wondering at the quality of it. If I ever decide to build a model of my favorite Axis fighter it would probably be the 1/32nd Hasegawa kit but this is amazing. And in the orange experimental scheme with the size she'd have to dominate any table at a show! Thanks for sharing Shawn and kudos sir!!!

Excellent work specially in the pit.  Beer

I have this one in my stash that I picked up on Ebay a couple of years back For about $35. Mine was factory sealed so even the decals are mint.

Like you said, the pit is imaginary and needs to be scratch out along with the addition of more engine details to compliment the partial one in the kit.

Very Nice job.

The crispness of the painting, the detail, the color, and the size - kinda combine to scream out "LOOK AT ME !".
