Regarding rattle-cans: the Tamiya spray cans are way superior to the Testors spray cans due to Tamiya's nozzel. Tamiya's nozzel produces a very fine mist of paint that is easy to control. Plus, there is very little orange peel. Testors nozel produces a heavy output of paint, making it difficult to control.

 

 

I'll have to keep that in mind. I'd been using the Testors rattle cans but maybe I should switch to the Tamiya ones for next time.

I've built that kit before. Back when I was 13 or 14 I built it before going to my grandparents' house for one of the major holidays. He was shot down in a B-17 towards the end of the war in Europe, and I thought it would be a cool present for him. I spent 2 months building it because I wanted everything to be perfect. It was pretty good, but it didn't hold a candle to the work you did there. Really impressive looking build. Congrats on your well deserved recognition.
