Hey BK,JJ,7474 and Mike. Thanks for the comments and I hope you enjoyed the report on a rather fun model. Lotsa entertainment in that one! Max's Comparitive 1/48 Aircraft Museum (my office) only gets a few visitors a year and it's always fun to find some new victims to review your work! LOL and thanks again!  Big Smile

Max

PS--I forgot to mention that all the windows and turrets were not masked and hand painted. I don't think I'm that steady today! Huh?

Now that's a georgeous build !

I have the same model in my stash for a year now that I am trying to get up the nerve to start on it. I may do that soon thanks to your inspiration.

Beautiful. Looks like it just rolled off the assembly line.

I did find a picture of "Chow-hound" in a Boeing history book.

PS--I see I've got a double picture above. This happend on another post that took me over an hour to write the other day. I pushed edit and highlighted the extra picture, pushed delete and erased the entire post. I think I'll just leave it this time! LOL!

Wow, this is about the upper size limit for Max's Comparitive 1/48 Aircraft Museum. With it's 27" wingspan it doesn't fit on any of my shelves, at least the display ones. This was a fun model in that there were a multitude of sub assemblies and lots of engines. It's my standard clean build and has a few seam issues but nothings perfect and it is one of my better works. It actually won a third place ribbon a couple of years ago at the Tulsa Modelers Forum show.

This also was a fun one to photograph and the first shot is my favorite. It's like you just walked up to it in person. It wouldn't fit on my little photo set for models and I had to lay out background paper and crawl around on the floor for a bit, not easy for us old dudes. LOL!

"Chow-hound" flew many missions over Germany and was eventually shot down with a partial loss of crew as were many others. A bit of history and not too bad of a model from Revell made for many fun hours of model building during a long Kansas winter.

The model had a fairly extensive interior but viewing it is difficult with small thick windows. (trying to save you some time if you build this one!)

Anyway as I say--Check it out.
