You mean the wax sheet that is supposed to protect the decals?

The paper will come off once the decals are soaked in warm water. Just as the backing will. You'll need to be very careful and make sure they completely soak so that paper slides off.

You may still encounter a few that will resist and the paper will not want to come off, but you may get lucky and have no issues after you soak.

If all else fails, look for some aftermarket decals. Sprue Brothers offers a lot of replacement decal sets and they're not too bad on price. Or Hannants if you're over on the other side of the pond. I hear they are even better.  :)

I bought an old model of a 1/32 Dauntless from a garage sale. The model is in great shape. Except the paper that protects the decal sheet is stuck to the   face of the sheet. Any way to remove the paper without damaging the decals?
