Well it's about time. I will hope to grab one someday for my stash. I see even thru the link on this thread it's no low end pricing.

Wow, looks like a great kit.  I've made a kit from Kitty Hawk and loved it!

Well the bright side to this is that it brings some pe and the price is under $54. The details look amazing and was expecting it to be $70+ but was surprised by the lower price at SH.

If ROG would have come out with a Banshee in 1/32 I would say the price would have been just under or around $40.

I'd love to build a F2H in somthing like a "Bridges of To-Ko-Ri" with either rockets or those klunky looking ww2 era 500 pound bombs.

Chasing the ultimate build.

The jets in The Bridges at Toko Ri were Panthers, easily confused with the Banshee. Thst is my all time favorite movie and don't get tired of watching it.

LOL!! Looks like he landed on the wrong carrier and got the Navy traditional art work! Harry Brubaker would never do that.

Bridges at Toko-Ri is great movie.  One my favorites as well.  Its based on an equally good book by James Michener.

In the movie its Panthers.  However, in the book they flew Banshees.

Both those aircraft are on my short list to build someday.  Just too many in line in front of them. lol.

In Michener's novel he made up combination of Poko-ri and Antoko-san, two villages located near the bridges at Samdong-ni and called it Toko-Ri. Michener's movie character was inspired by LCDR "Papy" Brubaker.

The actual raid on the Samdong-ni bridges (Toko Ri in the novel and movie) was done by Skyraiders and Corsairs. The movies and novels change things here and there.

You are welcome Tom. Interesting as the Helo pilot's green baseball hat inspired the green top hat for Mickey Rooney.

Another interesting tidbit on trivia about this movie is that many years ago I worked in the Police Department with Sergeant  Jay Cuthbert who served on the Oriskany  while the movie was being filmed. Sergeant Cuthbert told me that he met the  film crew and some of the actors including William Holden. Sadly my friend Jay passed away a couple of years ago. Rest in peace buddy.
