Moving over to the Armour thread Toshi
Posted by Toshi on Friday, September 23, 2016 12:26 PM

To my fellow forum members,

Especially the aircraft builders.  I'm just letting everyone know that I'll be building a Tamiya 1/35 Kampfpanzer Leopard over at the Armour thread.

I'm also moving from a three bedroom to a two bedroom condo by November 1st.  Between packing, I'll see how much building I can do until then.  At some point, I need stop and close down the den/workbench and I'll be away but in touch through others threads.

Thank you all for your support and belief in me!  I appreciate everything you have done for me!

After what you have accomplished with aircraft, it will be interesting to see you expand into another version of modeling and what you will do to the kitty.......

Be well, don't stress too much and keep in touch until you get settled, and cranked back up.  Keep the Bushido spirit going.

Geez we will miss you a lot Toshi.

Downsizing your domiclie has got to hurt your modeling hobby. Where are you going to put all those great models you have finished ?  Is your high production model factory going to be compromized ?

My good friend, Uncle Jay Jay!  It's good to hear from you, it's been a while.  I felt that the space was too small for me to continue to model hence, I was going to give up and hang up the Tamiya glue.  All forum members have urged me not to quit as they've worked in some type of unusual and very small spaces.

I guess after having my own man cave/den, displays will need to be taken down and models will be donated to various VFW's.  At first, I couldn't deal with that!  Having TBI, it makes it very difficult for me to make such strain full changes.  But after a month and with forum members help, I'm resolute in making this move a positive one.

As for my situation being compromised, I can only wait and see what happens.  Until then, when my work bench is packed up, I will keep in touch with other forum members threads.  Thank you so much for your heart felt concern!  I greatly appreciate it!

I do my modeling in a small one-bedroom apartment, so to me, a two-bedroom condo would be a major upgrade. You'll figure out some way to keep building once you get to your new home and all settled in. But don't hang up your hobby knife; you've got lots of models to build.

Toshi,

I have often thought about when I will have to downsize someday, and I'm going to have quite a predicament. I've already started to compile a list of VFW, Vets Halls, and WWII museums and possibly the local library for bequething models to.  I would in my case even consider buying the display cases.

Obviously airplanes take up the most space, where as 1/35th armor models can fit linearly on a shelf.  Ships can fit linearly as well.  We airplane lovers have it tough in that respect.  You may also consider 1/16th figures which can be very interesting and take up very little space.

I usually have one big complicated airplane model that will take up to a year or more to do right (My 1/72 A400 as an example), then one or two  1/35th armor builds.  But no more than two or three a year now and that keeps me as busy as I can be.  You certainly don't have to stop.

We need you here my friend.

Yes, I see where you're coming from.  I will do my best to find a way and see what can be done in the new condo.  Thank you for your support!

My concern about your possible intention to quit modeling is heartfelt Toshi. You've made amazing progress with your modeling therapy not to mention the fantastic and speedy way in which you build your models and  i look forward to each and every post of yours.

I started modeling because I can no longer do much construction work, due to a bad back ,so I had to do something with my hands. I live in a small single-wide mobile home and my assembly work bench measures only 16 x 20 INCHES but I continue to press on. Where there is a will, there is a way my friend. you can do eeet !

That seems to be the reiteration here from forum members; "Where there's a will, there's a way"!  I also noticed how small everyone's work space is, I guess I'm just too spoiled.  LOL!  I'll need to figure out a way to make this happen.  Thank you uncle Jay Jay!
