I would have this problem if the closest hobby shop wasn't over an hour away.

Had to take my daughter's truck for a drive today it's been sitting for a few months. Unbelievably it took me straight to a hobby shop. $40 later I walked out with an Airfix Spitfire Mk.XII and a Revell F-16A MLu Tiger Meet

A similar thing happened to me once. A hobby shop appeared out of nowhere near where I worked and I stopped by and left a chunk of change behind.

Chasing the ultimate build.

I just got back from a model show (Armorcon 2016) where I helped fill the vendors in the vendor room cauffers.  Reference books, tools, glue and pigment.  I did bring my purchases in through the basement though.  Good show as far as I was concerned.

I did that for years and when my wife asked I always replied "For when I retire".

I got caught last week! Our usual UPS driver went on vacation and did not tell his replacement to deliver any packages to my house as his last deliverly and to knock on the garage door. I came into the house from the garage and knew I was in trouble: stacked up on the sofa were the three kits, two sets of decals, and a half dozen bottles of paint.I started to make my normal excuse but she, shooting daggers at me, said "You retired five years ago so don't go there!".

Quick thinking I responded with "Just think how much fun the great grandkids and I will have building these when they're old enough." Her response was " As much fun as me, our daughters and grand daughters will have going shopping tomorrow??"

Thanks everyone, I feel better knowing I'm not the only one with this struggle, now I know how a woman feels stepping into a shoe store Haha.

Jim Barton

That's par for the course!Big Smile

And the course beat the daylights out of me this last week....went in for a bottle of paint and left with a $40 kit (turns out not the correct one for what I had in mind) and a bag of paint bottles.....and $86 thinner wallet...oh well, not many vices left at my age...wait, need one of those too.

There's nothing wrong with a little self indulgence!  LOL!  Looking forward to your WIP Lancaster build!

Wish there were some near me. One huge one closed down.

A number Army Viet Nam scans from hundreds yet to be done:

Have had the great fortune to be on every side of the howitzers.

The Baron suggested I went to AAA hobbies here in NJ, wanted to get only 2 jars of paint, but $98 and the new 1/72 Airfix Lancaster, and MANY jars of paint I walked out. I decided to try to pain roundels on the Hurricane and Lanc'. The Lanc just was screaming at me to take it home with me.... I'll probably do a WIP when I get around to it also, but the Hurricane and 3 airliners will keep me busy for a bit.

I hate it when that happens. Wait, no I don't!

This is my problem.  It is extremely hard for me to demonstrate self control.  I swear I pick up at the very least 3 jars of paint every time I go.  Well yesterday it was only 2, but I also picked up 3 kits. Embarrassed  I have an excuse though, I've been told my stash is much too small, lol.
