Hi guys, I'm just back in the hobby and renewed my membership here a few weeks ago. I originally joined this forum back in 03', and faded in 07', mainly due to family expansion. I don't see too many of the original crew, so I thought I would share my builds from back in the day (its not too many guys). My memory fails me on some of this stuff, I can't remember everything about each kit so bare with me.
First model I built was this F-5E aggressor. I love agressor birds...so cool. I remember slapping this thing together overnight just so I could paint with my new Omni 5000 airbrush that had just showed up from Dixie Art. A cieling hanger is a quick build, so I went with wheels up. I have no idea who made this kit but it is 1/48 and painted with MM enamels. I was new to the hobby and hadn't been on the forum long enough to know about washes and weathering so. I was new to photography as well. I found these on photobucket recently and it was funny to look back on all of this.
Next up, I did my favorite subject, the D-stang. This is a 1/48 Tamiya kit painted with AlcladII. AWESOME stuff, I fell in love with this metalizer. I had made some progress in the hobby and tried an aftermarket Blackbox resin cockpit and it went fairly well.
Same kit, same finish, with a True Details resin pit, which became my favorite D-stang pit.
At this point, I knew I had an addiction problem, but kept it hid from my wife. Same as above. I put a couple coats of Future Floor Polish over the metalizer on this and liked the look of it.
I picked up this kit at a hobby shop in P-cola, because they had a Blackbox resin pit in stock as well. I think this was a Monogram kit, it is 1/48. I love SEA cammo and this was finished with MM enamels too.
I can't remember what order I built these in, but here is the next kit. I have no idea who molded this one but it is a 1/48 Hs123 German dive bomber. It came with a resin pit and some PE stuff.
This is Tamiya's Bf109 I don't remember which G. I was eager to get to trying some weathering techniques I had learned from the forum so I painted everything in the cockpit black, closed the canopy, and got er' done so I could paint and weather (which is my favorite part of the hobby).
This is Classic Airframes 1/48 pain in the you know what Westland Whirlwind. MM enamels.
This is the next to last model I built, it was getting late in my game. This is Accurate Miniatures 1/48 SBD-3 OOB. Really good kit. I painted this with Tamiya acrylics just to try them out.
This is the last model, and only survivor of all the moves since 07'. I still have this model sitting on the shelf. This is Trimaster's 1/48 Fw190 I can't remember which variant. This was a cool build.
