One descrepancy in this build is that it's carrying marks on the tail that shows 121 kills. It probably didn't do that with those heavy cannons under the wing. I thought that it was a lot of kills until I read up on it while building the model. The top ace of the entire war was German pilot Erich Hartman in his black nosed Me109 with 352 victories.No dogfights for him, only high speed ambushes. Even though on the eastern front fighting biplanes Hartman survived 825 combat encounters.

Thanks Toshi, this one was built years ago and is the wrong scale for Max's 1/48 museum. After building it I decided that 1/32 was too big for my future shelf space and this remains my one and only 1/32. They are a fun build and easier on the aging eyes and hands I must say. Thanks for your comments!
PS--I do have some 1/72 scales as those B-36 and B-52s get quite large! A 1/48 B-17 is even large for the museum. Maybe it's time to expand the limits! LOL!
Another nice build for your museum!

Max - I'll add another vote for a fine build and finish, looks just great. Thanks for the post and photos.

Greg Looks very good to me, too. Are you saying this was a recent completion? You might consider a WIP thread or GB in the future, I for one would have been interested to follow a first build back after a sabbatical. Second would work, hint, hint.

Hey Greg, this model is about 20 years old And you've seen almost every one I've built since on my weekly posts. (Only 4 to go!) Thanks for putting up with me Gang, but I wanted to show the collection, good or bad, to everyone who was interested. I've been away from modeling again for about 14 months on a 1/1 Modified vintage Hodaka Motorcycle that is just about finished. Back with WIP soon I hope, unfinished Stuka is first on the list. I've certainly learned lotsa cool stuff from eveyone and the Stuka will actually have dirt and oil on it! LOL!
Thanks to everone for looking and commenting on my work and and sharing your ideas and builds. I appreciate it very much!
Well...I can say it's far better than my first 20-30 builds after my 1st return...and there was only a small gap of a few years. I have in fact, wasted well over 200 kits (that # may very well be on the light side!) in my days!
Neat scheme I like it. I wish my return to model making looked as good
Hey ;
I don't know about this . I am looking at a very nice build of a very well known aircraft . Because you worked so hard at it , you are your own worst critic .
I see a model built with skill and care .What flaws ? You had fun building it didn't you ? besides I had fun looking at it , so there ! Thanks for sharing . T.B. P.S. Be gentle on you for what ?
Back to modeling after many years---Several years ago, strolling through Hobby Lobby with the wife, I spotted this neat 1/32 Me109. I was an avid modeler as a kid but mid-life was a busy time, maybe it's time to try one again I thought. Me109, glue, cheap screw-on-to the bottle airbrush and a few bottles of paint and I was back in business!
Be gentle on me as this was my first airbrush model and the first in a couple of decades. You have to start somewhere and the time was here. The classic flaws are there, silvery decals, seams and such, but that's how you learn. Here it is in its so-so glory. It doesn't look too bad way up there on the high shelf! LOL!
Notice it sports the optional under-wing cannons along with home made camo and generic decals--Not exactly historicly accurate but hey, it was a start! Check it out.
PS--I'm still fiddling with background colors and angles for model photography. This wasn't as easy as it looked but yet another approach.
