OK, after doing all the photography on this one, I will post it but will be asking your forgiveness on my shoddy decal work. This one needs to go back to the hanger for corrections but I can at least give my review and presentation. I'm starting to like Academy models because of their fit and detail, not a Tamiya but real close. This is a good representation of the versatile F-16 with a large ordnance load and I liked my views on it which was really due to the pointy design of the aircraft. Hard to get a bad shot of an F-16! lol. Anyway check it out and try to imagine how it would look with proper decaling! lol.

I see what you're talking about the decals but, your paint job is exceptional! I also must agree with you in that Academy is awesome. I personally think some of their products are as good as Tamiya Products. That sir, is just my humble opinion. Overall, you did a great job on this build!

Did you gloss up the paint before applying the decals and did you use any decal setting solution?
Too many models to build, not enough time in a lifetime!!

Good question. The model was painted with flat MM Acryl colors. I then usually brush on Future on the decal areas and let it dry. Decals are then apllied with Testors decal set. I think where I went wrong was using flat colors rather than gloss which I'll be trying on the next model. This problem has curbed my enthusiasm in that after spending many hours on a model and having it unacceptable in the end is a bummer.
Thanks for your interest and I'm always open for advice.
I polish the paint with an old t shirt to smooth out the finish. I then brush on several coats of Future till the finish is glass glossy smooth then the decals go on after a couple of days curing. Then a clear flat coat is sprayed.
Hello!
You might try to save your work this way: slash the decals with a sharp hobby knive and then apply future over the whole aircraft. Future should penetrate the decals through the cuts and fill the air voids under the decals thereby eliminating the silvering. If this doesn't help, you can gently remove the decals with a glass fibre pen (used for cleaning electronics contacts) - then reapply future to the places where the decals were and apply other decals from an aftermarket set (there are many sets for this paint scheme). Hope it helps, Good luck with your build and have a nice day

Hey thanks Gang! I appreciate your ideas. I'll try these suggestions and hopefully give you a report.
In the past I have used the same method pawel mentioned but using Solvaset to soak the decal. It may reduce some of the silvering.

Thanks Chris, they do look fast and the Academy model depicted it well. Nice kit and I may save it yet! LOL!
