How do I safely pack a huge 1/32 plane model to commute to a friend some miles away?

The plane is a huge german he-111. There are gun turrets top, bottom and front with barrels sticking out. Plus there's an aerial (done with sprue), and landing gear to deal with.

I will be taking mass transit (train then bus) and will be holding it in my lap.

Get yourself a metal tool case, then get some foam cut holes in the foam to let the undercarriage drop in ( buy the way the foam needs to be thick not your thin stuff )

sit the plane on the foam, then break chunks off a new piece of thick foam and lay it around the plan, build this up so it covers the plane, place a new piece of foam over the top, close the lid and your done
