The only NEWER one I'm aware of, is the Typhoon. Haven't built it, but from what I've seen of it....nothing short of AWESOME!

I've built their 1/24 Spit, Mustang and 109. These kits (along with the 190 and Stuka) are dated....fairly basic, but decent on the outside. Lots of room for extra detailing. I have the 1/24 Harrier in the stash also...it looks like it's gonna be tough...yet still decent(with a little help!), especially considering it's age!

I just completed the JU 87. The quality of the kit can not even  begin to compare to the new Typhoon. on the old kit the molding is fairly "pebbly" and the fit is sometimes not so good.

Loads of work needed to get right for paint.

However on the 87 I found the engine and cockpit detail quite good out the box, with some carefull painting and a little extra work they can look very nice.

I was surprised that the decals went on like paint!

As for the typhoon, I have it in the stach and it is a totallt different kettle of fish. The moldings are smooth, beautyfully engraved detail (the rivets on the 87 were like tiny needles) and from what I read the fit is very good.

Although very expensive, I think the new airfix "tiffy" is exelent. Detil is mode that what can even be seen. Many good reviews on it, they cant all be wrong  LOL

I built the Mosquito a few years back.  It is a great kit but it has a lot of parts and it took a long time to get everything done on that one.  The engines alone are kits.  It is huge, almost as big as a Monogram 1/48 B-17.

I also have the Typhoon in my stash.  Looks like another great kit.

1/24 should be large, is it for older generations of aircraft or do they maybe have a 1/24 Phantom II, or Tornado ADV?

Chasing the ultimate build.
