Little Big Stud
Posted by Bossman on Saturday, December 3, 2016 2:15 PM

Hello all,

Here is a recent completion . . .   A 1/72 Haswgawa P-47D Razorback.  BIG STUD.

The kit is pretty old - so the gear bays were not detailed at all   and the cockpit was VERY sparse.  My solution - which also helped me build it more quickly - was to do it in-flight, wheels up, with the pilot figure.

The base is just a piece of pine 1x2, cut into the kindof stubby rounded profile of the P-47's fuselage.

Various shades of OD and greys in MM acrylics, sludge wash to accent panel lines.  Oooo I forgot . . .  I'll probably hit it with some pastel chalks in places.

Decals were old - and brittle - they would have been unusable if I had waited much longer to build ths one.  No fit problems at all.

All-in-all a fun build.  Even though this is an old kit - the surface detail is really nice.

Very nice build! Toast Nice stand too. Does the job and doesn't take up a lot of room.

Well done, Chris.  Many of the Hasegawa kits from that period build very well.

Hello!

I remember building this baby - I liked it a lot then and I like the way yours turned out a lot! Simple and beautiful. Thanks for sharing and have a nice day
