Airfix Mossie
Posted by Big Jake on Thursday, December 8, 2016 12:56 PM

I'm slogging through a Mossie build for a customer and am trying to figure out what these parts were used for on the plane. The instructions are no help, I figured me of you Mossie gurus might be able to help. This is for the upper nose guns.

Thanks,

Jake

Jake, is this for the Airfix 1/24 Mossie ? I had heard that the instructions were fairly detailed ? Sorry I am no use at all, always wanted one but just cant drop the hammer on a $200+ kit.

I can check for you tonight when I get home. I have a cut-away drawing of the Mosquito listing all parts.

The two parts are the forward and rear gun supports. When fitted under the guns, the two spars will fit over the 4 tiny triangles moulded on the inside of the nose area. They are a real pain to fit and it is very important to take the utmost care, otherwise the gun barrels will not line up with the holes in the nose cone. I am in the middle of the same build and most of it has gone well, but the kit is a real test of patience. Hope this helps.
