Nice interpretation of the RAAF camo scheme.

From what I understand, the principal reason for selection of the Mirage over the F-104 was that the F-104 required airfields (runways) of a higher grade than were available in Australia at the time.

This was just for a bit of fun, this old Revell kit is not a great kit to work with, so I just had a play really.

So this is a what if No. 2 Operational Conversion Unit RAAF, used F-104 Starfighters instead of Mirage IIIO's?

I used Gunze acrylic and enamel, Tamiya acrylic, Vallejo acrylic, Gunze metalizer and Vallejo Metal Color, Flory dark dirt wash and AK satin varnish.

I could not find any reference photos of sidewinders mounted underneath, so I just guessed it, main gear doors are supposed to sit flush I think, but there is no way that was happening, but i did find some photos of aircraft with them a bit open like this.
