Thanks guys!
patrick206 Both are outstanding, the camo version really is very well done, especially in that scale. Would you please share the paint and airbrush info? Thanks for the post and photos. Patrick

To be honest, I'm a little disappointed with myself on this one. Wish I had done it in the civilian markings that came with the Esci kit. They were quite similar to the other, and also with German registration...woulda looked good sitting next to each other.
Paint is MM enamel. I mixed OD, Russian topside green and light grey, for the green....mixed red and brown for the mottle, and the white is just flat white with a clear gloss lacquer(Minwax). A/B is a $20 Harbor Freight 2x action special! I keep the compressor set at 20psi always...I regulate pressure with the trigger, when it feel right..it's right! Paints are thinned about 50/50, maybe a bit more sometimes. I don't really ever have a definite formula/ratio...if it feels too thin, add paint...too thick, add thinner.
Looks fantastic Fermis. I love the last photo with the side by side comparison!

Just finished up a pair of Ecsi/Italeri Cessna 172's.
One in civil markings (Mathias Rusts plane...posted in the cicilian forum). The other being one used by the Croatian Air Force. Both kits marking came from the Italeri boxing.
Both were OOB, other than I replaced the exhaust pipe with aluminum tube, I snipped off the beacon and strobe from the tail and replaced them with clear sprue, and added clear sprue for the nav light (painted with Tamiya clear red/green) and added the antennas on the tail (stretched sprue).
