The greenery is just for a bit of contrast. (I suck at photography)

Great job on the Mosquito, Gerhard!

I'm not sure if it's the same mold or not but I built the Monogram one about 25 years ago when I was in college.  I can't say I remember it having any issues whatsoever.  Maybe the molds were newer back then.

So why is your model posed on a bit of greenery?

Odd.  This looks like the re-tooled kit and not the old Monogram version.

The Monogram version never had the paddle-bladed propellers.  I can't say anything about the latest Revell version, as I've never built that one, but the old Monogram version didn't give me any problems (that weren't expected) when I put it together last year.

Good job, even with all the issues.  I built one years ago, before I cared so much about the seams.  As I recall, the canopy gave me fits even then.  Last years at Osh Kosh, I got to see 2 Mosquitos, although they did not fly them the day I was there.Evidence below.

Yes! In honor of the build, the only one I've ever seen.

I've built several of these when they first cameout.  I don't remember having the fit issues you mentioned.  Regardless, you did a good job.

Looks pretty good from here. We're our own worst critics.

Looks decent enough. The kit is old and simple to build. With the typical level of detail from the time when it was originally released. I did one about 8 years ago now and don't remember having any problems. I've seen high dollar kits done far worse. It's all in the hands of the modeler.

Good review and you struggled through dire straights and saved it against all odds! We're proud of you. I think we've all had some of these as this brings a couple of examples to mind. (And you did make us laugh, so maybe it was worth it after all! LOL!)  Smile

Even with all the issues you mentioned, you did a great job in bringing it into existence.  It looks really nice.

I nearly binned this piece of trash so many times, probably the worst kit I have ever built. My apologies for your torture by looking at these images. Let me expand, the cockpit floor was to wide for the fuselage, and had to be trimmed. The landing gear and spinners are way out of scale. This was a practice build, but I just had to end it here, enough torture.
