Confusion over True Details GRU 7 Ejection Seats
Posted by David from PA on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 12:02 PM

I received the True Details GRU 7 ejection seats for my Trumpeter a-6 Intruder today but, as there are no instructions with them, I'm a bit confused about a couple of parts. I see that they have included the tube in the back of the seat (what the real seat rides up and down on) but there are also a couple of other pieces (basically square sticks an inch (2.5 cm) long) that I'm not sure about. There are 2 per seat and I have no idea where they are supposed to go. If anyone has used these seats please inform me about what these "sticks" are for and where do they go on the seats?

Probably the O2 and G-suit hoses. Trumpeter has them for their A-6 seats. Since I'm backdating my A-6A to a Marine bird use in Nam 1967, I picked up the AMS GRU-5 seats.

Do you have a picture?

A lot of times, with resin stuff, there are square "sticks" on the ends of the pour blocks that are just there to protect the other small parts. Other than that, the only thing I can think of (given the size/length) would be rails up the back of the seat???

I figured out that they just protect the tube that goes on the back of the seat. Thanks for the replies anyway. BTW, the O2 lines, etc are already part of the casting.
