They'd do it because it's cheaper to change the box art than the kit.  Most people wouldn't know the difference anyway.  A lot of them would be surprised to know that there was something like the "D" model, let alone something as the difference of a wing root change.

From what I have understood, it is pretty much a repop of the mid 90's AMT kit.  Was going to get one, but that and the SALT wing roots sent me to ebay where I found the original AMT offering.  Would rather have that as I worked on the "G's" in the early 70's.  Wingspan is around 30 inches, maybe a little more, IIRC.

Buffjock and Bockscar are the 52 experts around here...Can find them on the "In The BUFF" GB.

Apparently the one shown on the box cover art can't be built with what is in the kit as the wing root is wrong.  Why would Italeri do that? Not include the correct wing root for the one on the box?

Any comments on this kit?  I wouldn't mind building one of the 1/72 B-52's. Is the wingspan 26-1/2 inches?
