1/48 F4U-4 HVAR stubs (?)

Welcome to the forums.  To answer your question, the rocket launching stubs on a Corsair are basically 2 thin streamlined tabs that hang down in line and support the rocket in 2 places.  If you can get some plastic stock about the right width as the stubs, sanding to make the shape and cutting to length should be pretty straight forward.  The only thing I'm not sure of is if there was a panel the stubs mounted to, but again that would be pretty straight forward to make.  The rockets themselves are a bit more of a challenge, though, and I'm not sure what to tell you to do there.  Sorry.

Dante, I can tell you what I did when I built mine.  (You can see it here.)  The Tamiya F-51D (Korean War boxing) has 6 (not 8) rockets included.  I had one in my stash and sourced another 2 rockets, then cut off the stubs.  I then used my Tamiya -1D Corsair to measure out the mounting plates and cut some out of thin plastic sheet.  Glued on the stubs and viola!  It's not perfect, but if you're planning on mounting rockets, it should look the part.  Oh, speaking of which, a quick Google search shows that there are plenty of aftermarket HVARs available in 1/48.  (See that here.)  Anyway, hope that helps.

Dont forget that the -4B had staggered mounting stubs. If your kit is a -4B and not a -4

Thank you all for the replies. They will both be F4U-4s, not -4Bs. Turns out the Tamiya F4U-1A kit includes the stubs, even though they didn't emerge until the -1D.  I just so happen to have two of the -1A kits. I guess problem solved.
